Materials which can be used to support reading at home include story books, comics, magazines, newspapers, recipe books, books about nature and wildlife, takeaway menus, leaflets that may come through your letterbox...the list is endless! The Encyclopaedia Britannica is available to all children on Hwb and the Book Trust also have a range of free resources online.

Oak National Academy is a new collection of high-quality lessons and online resources. Backed by the Government, it has been created in response to the coronavirus lockdown. Jolly Phonics is the scheme we use with our Reception children to teach letter sounds. We focus on single letter sounds first, progressing on to 'qu', 'ch', 'sh' and 'th' towards the end of the summer term. Each letter sound is pronounced phonetically and has an accompanying action.
