Our school is situated in the village of Mostyn. Mostyn is located on the North East Coast of Wales, with Prestatyn and Flint lying approximately seven miles to the West and East respectively. The school lies just off the A548 coast road which runs alongside the Dee Estuary. The village is set on a hillside overlooking the estuary and enjoys breathtaking views across to the Wirral, Liverpool and beyond.
Ysgol Bryn Pennant is named after Thomas Pennant, who lived in Downing Hall. He was celebrated as a famous writer and historian. His most famous work is a series of books entitled 'Tours of Wales'.
Our primary school was built in 1950 to educate the rapidly expanding local community. We are a small rural school and we pride ourselves on our family atmosphere. At present we have 129 pupils on roll.
Ysgol Bryn Pennant is an English medium school for pupils aged from 3 years to 11 years. Our full time pupils are organised into four classes of mixed ability, with two year-groups in each class. We have a class for our Nursery/Early-Entitlement pupils which children can apply to join in the term following their third birthday.
