Group Work Linking Up With Enterprise Club

In my classroom during October all children worked really hard to create their self portrait. Each group of children from year one to six spent time learning about proportion and scale, carefully drawing their reflection in the mirror with pencil. Over their next few sessions they added skin tone and hair, finishing off with the details which made them all so individual.

The Year 4 Enterprise Club wrote to Miss Wood to ask for a loan to buy frames for the children’s portraits. They also created leaflets and posters advertising Gallery Nights and made bilingual signs for the Gallery/Oriel. Many of the Enterprise Club hosted the Gallery, helping with refreshments and handing out change.

We were all really pleased to have made over £280 (the figure keeps growing as there are a few still for sale) and we were able to pay back the loan to the school.

Enterprise Club has also recently applied to MATRA, the Residents association in Mostyn for a donation and was very pleased to receive £100 towards our funds, which will be used later in the school year for a treat benefitting everyone.

I would like to say a huge well done to all the children, especially the newly formed Enterprise Club.
