A huge thank you to all of the children who attended Pentrellyncymer this year. A great time was had by all. Photos have now been uploaded to the photos section of the website! Enjoy... there are over 400 photos from our trip this year! The centre staff were once again hugely imperssed by all of our children and couldn't stop commenting on how polite they all are! We have been allocated extra time to allow parents to complete the Estyn questionnaire before our inspection. The window has been extended until Wednesday 24th May. You can share your views using the questionnaire for parents which is available on the Estyn website by using the following link.

If you would prefer a paper copy of the questionnaire, they are available from the school office. These need to be returned in a sealed envelope, marked for the attention of Estyn.

Spring Fair Success
A huge thank you goes to the Friends of School who worked so hard to organise and run the Spring Fair on Saturday. Thanks also to the staff who helped on the day and to parents for your fantastic support. We had a fantastic turn out and raised an amazing £1,182.10

Tadpole Watch
Day one in the tadpole tank and tension is mounting as we watch the development of our tadpoles. Everyone seems to be getting along quite nicely, and enjoying their diet of fresh apples. Some might even go as far as to say things are going swimmingly.

CHAMPIONS! - 7/3/17
A massive llongyfarchiadau (or congratulations) to the Ysgol Bryn Pennnant Years 5 & 6 Netball Team, who today were crowned champions in the Flintshire Rural North Netball Festival. All of the team were fantastic ambassadors for our school, and they all demonstrated fantastic sportsperson qualities. Thanks are once again due to Mrs Pierce for her technical expertise and enthusiasm. I'd like to offer a heartfelt thank you to the team and all members of our after-school netball club. It is a privilege to coach such a wonderful group of individuals.

Pumps for PE

Netball Tournament - 07/02/17
We are very proud of our netball team's performance today! They played really well and came in third place (out of ten!) during the tournament in Deeside Leisure Centre. Everyone was a credit to the school and 100% effort was put in by all. Thanks must also go to Mrs Pierce for her continued enthusiasm and support when our team is out and about!

Children in KS2 enjoyed a morning of workshops with representatives of Dŵr Cymru! A brilliant morning had by all!

This Term's After School Clubs
Our after school clubs have started this week.
This term, the clubs are:
Tuesday - Recorder Club for Year 3 (3:20 - 4:00pm)
Wednesday - Art Club for Year 4 (3:20 - 4:00pm)
Thursday - Netball Club for Years 5 and 6 (3:20 - 4:20pm) (Mr Sutton requests that children come prepared with sports kit warm enough to take part in on colder autumn days, diolch).
We look forward to welcoming as many children as possible to these extra curricular activities.

Welcome Back
It has been lovely to see everyone in school this week. The children who have joined us for the first time are settling in well, and everyone looks very smart in their uniform.

Soggy Summer Fair

Home Page Updated - Weather App (22/6/16)
The home page of ysgolbrynpennant.com has been updated today to include a three-day weather forecast for Mostyn. The information includes a picture to give a general outline of the weather, the expected temperature, forecasted windspeed and direction, and the 'real feel' to give a (hopefully) more accurate indication of how warm (or not!) it might feel outside.
It's just a shame we can't guarantee good weather all of the time!

Enterprise Club Update
Well done to everyone who took part in our Sponsored Circuit Day, it was so much fun and a fantastic success!
Every child from Nursery to Year 6 came to enjoy our challenges. Year 5 Enterprise club did a super job in organising the event and setting up the hall. They helped all day and worked the children hard! Diolch a da iawn pawb!

School Dinner - Golden Ticket Day - Guess the Movie
Next Thursday, 3rd March, there is a themed dinner day in school. The theme is 'Golden Ticket Day - Guess the Movie'. Each child in receipt of a school meal will get a raffle ticket.
As the meal on Thursday is a roast dinner, on Wednesday 2nd March the options will be sausage, mash and beans or Dewi's Oggie.

Netball Tournament - Tuesday 9th February 2016
A huge congratulations to our school netball team who played in a tournament in Deeside Leisure Centre today. They all performed excellently and represented the school so very well. They won two of their games and had a really enjoyable time. All of the netball team are looking forward to their next tournament, now!

Christmas Fair Non-Uniform Day

Head Lice Advice from our School Nurse
As you are aware, many families have had problems with head lice recently. We have arranged for our school nurse, Sally, to come in and meet with parents so that the issues can be discussed. The meeting will take place on Tuesday 1st December at 9.00 o'clock in the school foyer. Everyone is welcome.
Children In Need Total!

Children In Need Non-Uniform Day - Friday 13th November
We will be holding a non-uniform day to raise money for BBC Children In Need on Friday 13th November. Children wearing non-uniform are asked to bring in a donation. Diolch.
Enterprise Club
Our next session of Enterprise Club will take place after school on Monday 16th November. We are opening up the club to welcome Year 6 children as well as Year 4s. If your child wishes to attend please ensure they are picked up at 4pm from the junior entrance.
Mrs Francis-Owen would like to take this opportunity to thank the children from Year 4 who have had a very successful first half-term. Selling the framed portraits during our gallery nights helped to raise over £250. This has enabled us to pay back the loan we borrowed from school and left us with a profit. Da iawn!
